Curtis Granderson did not start because he had been on a 5-45 slump but came off the Bench and hit his 35th HR and Had 5 RBI’s to lead the Yankees to a 13-3 Rout over the now second place Baltimore Orioles. After putting up a quick five runs in the 4th Garcia began to struggle giving them back three runs. Freddie was on a short leash and was replaced by Joba Chamberlain who had his best outing of the season going 1.2 innings and striking out four batters on only 28 pitches. The rest of the bullpen also shut down the O’s the rest of the way out. Jeter added 3 RBI’s on 2 hits to further his career year. The Yankees have a much needed day off tomorrow before facing the Red Sox while the Orioles have three against the third place Rays. These match-ups should favor the Yankees but it is baseball so  anything can happen.
