The O’s started out the season strong and nobody including myself believes that they would be able to hold on to it . The Orioles have given up more runs than they have scored but their Bull-Penn has been fabulous and not to be taken lightly. The key to victory is going to be hitting them hard early and keeping on the pressure. If the Yankees can’t get early leads in these games they are not going to have an advantage. I think the Yankees will win tonight with their best pitcher on the mound but after that the pitching matchups will lean in the Orioles favor with Garcia and Phelps taking the mound for games two and three. If the Yankees can win two out of three then I will be more than happy. Alex Rodriguez is DHing at A league Tampa tonight and if all goes well will join the Bombers next week when the Yankees travel to Tampa to take on the now third place Rays. These are critical series and getting Arod back will be huge if he is anywhere near what he was before going on the DL. Andy Pettite threw 20 pitches off a mound and felt good. This is huge if the Yankees can get Andy back mid September and have him ready for the playoffs I think they will win it all. If not I think they have a 50/50 shot at best. Speaking of comebacks two other pitchers start rehab assignments tonight Pedro Feliciano who hasn’t pitched since 2010 coming back from rotator cuff surgery could make a difference as a lefty out of the pen and David Aardsma the very successful closer who had 69 saves in 2009 and 2010 for Seattle. When the Yankees picked up David they did not have eyes on him helping in 2012 but their thoughts were on 2013. Especially if Rafael Soriano decides to opt out of his contract. That however is another story for another time. Back to the present, here is tonight’s starting line-up for your home town NY Yankees:
1. Jeter SS
2. Swish 1B
3. Cano 2B
4. Granderson CF
5. Chavez 3B
6. Ibanez LF
7. Martin C
8. Ichiro RF
9. Nix DH

Kuroda RHP
