Funniest thing I have read today is that Hiroki Kuroda should sue the Yankees for lack of run support. The Yankees left more runners in scoring position than I care to mention last night and only provided one Sac fly of support for Kuroda’s complete game 4 hit effort. Kuroda has been the victim of poor run support all year and rightfully should have at least 15 wins if the Yankee offence would have lived up to their responsibilities. So the Yankees fall 3-1 but still had a couple of good things come out of last nights disaster. Jeter continues to light it up with, his bat going 2-5 with a run scored and Cano seems to be seeing the ball a lot better going 2-3. Texeria had the sac fly and in fact leads the league in Sac flys with 19. Tex is quietly putting together another great season as he has 23 HR and 81 RBI’s. Another bit of luck for the Yankees is that the Rays also lost so they hold on to their 3.5 game lead on the east. The Schedule is leaning in the Yankees favor in the upcoming few days as the Bombers face the Jays while the Rays play the league leading Rangers. Hopefully the Yankees will use this opportunity to increase their lead and give them a little padding when the Rays come to town in the beginning of September.

The dismantling of the Red Sox is official as they sent Crawford,Gonzalez,Beckett and Punto to the Dodgers for Loney and some prospects. This signifies Boston has officially given up any hopes of a battle for a wildcard moving into the stretch run. Not sure I necessarily agree with throwing away more than half of your good players but I certainly understand why they did it. I also feels this will officially put to bed the Red Sox  v Yankees rivalry for this year and probably many years to come as the Red Sox have gone into rebuilding mode.
