Seems the Yankees high powered offence is a bit barren in the hitting department at times. When the Yankees win they usually score 5 or more runs when they lose they usually score 3 or less. They are built for an all or nothing type hitting philosophy and live and die by the long ball.

What has really hurt them is hitting with runners in scoring position. 1-9 last night against Baltimore is not going to win many games. The O’s took down the Yankees 5-2 handing CC Sabathia his first loss of the season after five straight wins. CC went six innings and Garcia played his roll well pitching two and only giving up one hit with three strike outs. At the very least this gave the bull pen and extra night of rest.

Speaking of the bullpen the Yankees announced yesterday that reliever David Robertson is headed to the 15 day DL with a strained oblique. With Rivera already on the shelf this will leave the closing duties to Rafael Soriano. who proved himself as a closer with Tampa just two seasons ago.

Tonight the Yankees will Travel to Toronto to face the 19-18 blue jays it will be Hiroki  Kuroda vs. Kyle Drabek Both pitchers have been up and down this season with Drabek being a much better at Rogers Center than on the road. Kuroda has looked like the pitcher the Yankees have signed on for of late. Kuroda cruised through his last outing making only two mistake pitches that ended up being HR but never the less netted him his third victory of the season.
