Ibanez will likely platoon with Andrew Jones for the bulk of the DH at bats. The Yankees however decided on Ibanez over others for his ability to play in the field if needed.

Ibanez hit 20 HR in 2011 but batted only .245. The Yankees hope that he will be able to take advantage of the Stadiums short right field porch. It is believed that the Yankees may still have room in their budget to bring back Eric Chavez for infield and bench depth,

Spring training has begun and the fun has begun. Later I will post their entire Grapefruit League schedule as we count down to opening day. Buckle up Baseball is Back!
