The Birds are not flying so straight these days having lose eight of their last ten. Now they have to face a Hungry for a win CC Sabathia who is 0-1 but holds an ERA of 2.52. He has pitched well enough to be 3-1 but shit happens. Look for him to bear down and treat this game like its game seven of the world series he wants a win and he wants it now. So who is hot with the Yankees and who is not?
Brett Gardner Not Hot , Gardy is batting .128 and hasn’t had a hit in his last twelve at bats. He needs to pick it up and fast. Speaking of fast look for him to run if on base the Orioles are notorious for not holding runners well even though they have a golden arm in catcher Matt Wieters .

Curtis Granderson– Red Hot, The grandyman has hit 6 HR tieing him for the league lead with Mark Texieria. In the last seven days he is batting .435 with seven extra base hits.

Alex Rodriguez A-Rod took a few days off with oblique stifness but since returning to the lineup has continued to be red-hot. He leads the league in BA at .366 and has four hits in ten at bats this week with five walks. This guy is just an on base machine this season.

Jorge Posada– NOT SO HOT, At the beginning of the season it appeared that Posada might benefit from not being behind the plate and have a great season of hitting. This may still be true but right now he is stinking up the place with a BA of .160 and only two hits in his last 17 AB. His average this week is only .118. It’s only a matter of time before this gets noticed and the Yankees will have to consider making a change at the DH position. My vote is for Eric Chavez to get some more at bats in case you havent noticed he is batting .389 going 7 for 18 in his limited plate appearances this season.
