I had this whole long post written about Jorge and how the Astros are just not good at all but then it was eaten by this nasty computer and was unable to be recovered so I will attempt to give you the cliff notes version.
1. Jorge Posada hit back to back Homers over two games the last time this was done by a Yankee was in 1937.
2. The Yankees swept the Astros earning victories for all three starters.
3. Andy Pettitte picked up his 200th win as a Yankee a feat only accomplished by two others.
4. Javy Vazquez won his third in a row and five of the last six. I’m voting complete turnaround from the first month and a half of the season.
5. Phil Hughes picked up his 9th win of the season against only one loss.
6. Who would have guessed that I would have predicted the Yankees having batting practice against a sub .500 national league team.
7. Not only did they whoop them they outscored them 22 to 11.
8. The Yankees went to 17 games over .500 for the first time this season. and have moved into a tie for first place with the rays after they were squished by the fish today.
9. Inter league play continues for the Yankees on Tuesday as they will stay home for three against the Phillies and three against the Mets.
10. After they are done with the National league east they will be moving to the west coast for some more world series reunions with the Diamondbacks and the one that I have been waiting for the Dodgers. Where the Yankees will be facing their former skipper Joe Torre. Joe has a lot of fans here in NY, but I’m not one of them. Ill save my Joe bashing for when it gets closer.
enjoy the day off get some sleep we will preview the Phillies game one tomorrow. It will be just like the world series all over again.
