If you didn’t watch last nights Yankees, Red Sox war you are sure to see it soon enough on Yankees Classics. On a night when it looked like a blow out early with the Yankees taking a 5-0 lead in the first. It came down to a four run ninth inning and two homers against Jonathon Paplebum for the Yankees to get the 11-9 victory in this epic battle.
Phil Hughes didn’t have his best stuff but went five innings and left with the lead after giving up two HR,previously only allowing one all year. Tim Wakefield came in for the Sox for two effective innings and Papplebum came in for what looked like his ninth save of the year, but it wasn’t meant to be as he gave up a homer to arod and a game winning walk off shot to Marcus Thames who if not for injuries likely would not have been batting against a tough right handed pitcher.
Tonight they line up to do it again and you can bet I will be watching every minute of that one too.
