California heat that is. The Yankees are beginning the second part of their California tour this evening with a ten oclock game against the Angels. Before we get into that lets talk a bit about the trip to Oakland.

Tuesday showed a glimpse of the Javy Vazquez that the Yankees signed up for as his sharp breaking ball and good fastball took him to a 7-3 victory. He is starting to come out of his funk I think and the Arod homer helped too.

Wednesday Phil Hughes showed exactly why he is in the rotation taking a no hitter into the seventh before it was broken up and he was removed from the game due to his pitch count. Hughes struck out 10 and was absolutely dominate in the Yankees 3-1 victory.

Thursday CC Sabathia took the mound and pitched a solid eight innings. However a early three run homer allowed was enough to cost him the game as the Yankees couldn’t get it going offensively and dropped this one 4-2.

So it was another series victory as the Bombers have yet to lose one and sit a half game out of first place with a record of 11-4. Tonight its the Angels  and here are the line ups
