The last time the Yankees won four straight series to start a season was 1922 when Ruth and Gehrig were the household names in the batting order. Now replaced with Jeter and Rodriguez they are all on fire.

Yesterday CC. Sabathia was just short of brilliant as he allowed just three hits and struck out nine in a rain shortened six inning affair. The Yankees put up five innings two of which were unearned as a wild pitch in the first inning scored Jeter and a erant throw that went off the back of Swisher in the allowed Cano to score in the forth. The weather probably would not have helped the hapless Rangers had it been sunny as they have been historically horrible against left handed pitching and even worse at Yankee Stadium.

Today was more of the Same as AJ Burnett pitched seven scoreless innings on the way to his second win. Aceves didn’t fair as well giving up three runs in two thirds an inning. But it was to little to late for the Rangers as the Yankees rolled to another 7-3 victory. Offensively for the Yankees Alex Rodriguez hit his first Home Run of the season number 583 passing Mark McGuire for sole possession of eighth place on the all time list, Mark Texieria had a much needed hit and RBI that might be a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel for him. All it takes sometimes to break out of a slump is one good hit. Brett Gardner got the start in LF and made a strong bid for why he should be there every day going 3 for 4 with and RBI and a stolen base. Derek Jeter had another multi hit game bringing his average to .380. God hes good, how can anyone say Jeter is overratted he just keeps getting better. Its funny how the better he gets the more people talk about his decline and how they will have to move him to another position in a year or so. I don’t see it,I see Jeter as the short stop for at least four more years.

Tomorrow Yankees faithful will bring out the brooms with visions of a sweep as Andy Pettitte will take the hill vs Rich Harden who has not faced the Yankees since 2007. Its another 1pm start as Jeter goes for his sixth stright multi hit game and Tex hopes for his first.
