Yesterday was all about CC Sabathia who took a no hitter into the Seventh inning of the Yankees 10-0 Victory before Catcher Kelly Shopach a former teammate of Sabathias at Cleavland hit a Single that Chased CC from the game. Manager Joe Girardi stated that Kelly was his last hitter anyhow because of his high pitch count. I think had he retired Shopach it would have been a tough conversation to have. I also think CC would have put up a fight. After all how often do you get to pitch a no hitter? At any rate Sabathia got the win and after losing to the Rays in game one the chance of a series Victory was still in tact.

Today was AJ Burnetts turn and after a rough start giving up two runs in the first Burnett settled down to go seven innings only giving up the two runs on six hits . Offensively for the Yankees Curtis Granderson has been huge this series and in the last. Today Curtis went 2 for 4 with an RBI , I know its early but he is batting .348 and has 2 HR and 4 RBI’s. in six games. The Yankees also got another Home Run from Jorge Posada and a multi hit game from Alex Rodriguez who is my early pick for league MVP. Todays 7-3 victory gives the Yankees the series sweep and keeps the Yankees just one game back from the soon to crumble Blue Jays.

Monday is a day off and the Yankees are primed for their home opener against the Angels on Tuesday. Andy Pettitte will be on the mound for the Bombers against Irving Santana.
