Andy Pettitte pitched well went six innings giving up only one run. Chan Ho Park made ammends for Sunday with three scoreless innings where he only allowed one base runner.

The scoring began when David Ortiz had his first hit of the season scoring Pedroia just hours after telling the media to shut up about his eight at bats without a hit. Well actually shut up wasnt exactly what he said but you get the picture. The score remained 1-0 until the 7th inning when a single off the bat of Nick Swisher scored Jorge Posada from 2nd. The score would remain tied until the 10th inning when Curtis Granderson hit his second home run of the season on his way to the single season record. (ok prob not) . The Bombers would add one more insurance run after 3 walks a stolen base and a rbi ground out from the bat of Mark Texieria made the 3-1. Mariano Rivera came in to seal the deal and with his second save of the year gave the Yankees the series victory and a 2-1 record on the year .

Thursday is a Travel day before the Bombers arrive in Tampa to face Carl Crawford and the first place Rays.
