Yankees Online Magaxine is proud to Welcome our newest Writer, Ray Mowatt.
Ray Mowatt is a Baruch College Alum with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Creative Writing. Born in Jamaica, he immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s with his mother and grandmother. Currently, he works with Nielsen Media Research as a Sports Survey Editor. Ray found a fondness for sports watching friends and family playing cricket and soccer while in Jamaican. The lack of popularity in those sports led him to gravitate towards baseball. He began playing pick-up games in Bronx parks, had a brief stint on his high school baseball team, and played in a couple of summer leagues. It wasn’t until his sophomore year at Baruch College that he took baseball seriously. He earned a platoon spot at shortstop in 2004 before moving to centerfield permanently the year after. In 2005, he went a perfect 25-for-25 in stolen bases and won the 2005 NCAA Div III Stolen Base Award. Ray is a die-hard Yankee fan who prefers sitting amongst the “Bleacher Creatures.”
Ray will fit Right in here , His musing can also be found over on his own blog The Evil Eephus . Which I am sure he will be plugging often. Just remember the fact that he was a baseball player and has all that writing experience doesn’t trump the fact that I invented the peanut butter and mustard sandwich.
