These are fairly insignificant so I wont waste a bunch of your time on it. The Yankees removed Freddy Guzman and Josh Towers from the 40 man roster. Guzman was picked up at the end of august and served as a pinch runner in the post season. Towers was picked up and played at Scranton becoming one of their best in the rotation and was rewarded with two call-ups. Both players have elected to become free agents and will be thrown back into the ocean of guys that are replacement players at best. If Guzman could learn to hit he might be valuable to someone because he has speed like a jack rabbit. Towers could be on the comeback trail. He had some success with Toronto a few years back but the Yankees have a pool full of pitchers that are in need of his roster spot.
