cchit CC Sabathia gave us all a little scare last night taking a line drive off his chest but as luck would have it he turned out just fine. Sabathia has been throwing hard and doing nothing but win. At 18-7 he is making a good case for the CY Young award. Speaking of Awards Mark Teixeira is looking to win an award of his own . At 118 RBI’s Mark Leads the league in RBI’s  and has his batting average up to .289. I think If he finishes the season with 40 HR  130 RBI’s and a .300 BA I think the MVP will be his. After Beating the Mariners 10-1 last night the Yankees hope to leave Seattle with a series win as they get ready for a set against the Angels starting Monday. Here is a look at the starting line ups.

Damon LF

Rodriguez 3B
Matsui DH
Posada C
Cano 2B
Cabrera RF
Gardner CF

Pitching: RHP Joba Chamberlain (8-5, 4.39).

MARINERS (77-72)
Suzuki RF
Gutierrez CF
Lopez 2B
Griffey Jr. DH
Beltre 3B

Carp 1B

-Jorge Posada is back from his 3 game suspension and is battling a stiff neck. The result of the fight most likely.

-Brett Gardner back in the line-up which makes me happy as a fan. I like any player who hustles on every play and never takes one off. The blinding speed is good too.

-Seems OH OH Sergio Mitre has been sent to the bull pen  and Chad Gaudin has become your number 5 starter. Like this makes a difference in the world. If Joe Girardi has any sense neither of them will make the post season roster. So I’m sure we will be seeing both of them.

-We don’t talk enough about the monster year that Robinson Cano is having. Batting .323 and just a few short of a 200 hit season is awesome. To think many of you were ready to trade him away in the offseason last year. Oh and lets not forget his career high 23 HR. Remember he is only 26, he has many years of solid baseball to come.

As I type this the Yankees are losing 2-0 and about to be more. The Rangers have already lost to the Angels so if the Yankees do pull this game out they will clinch a playoff birth. We will be back with much much more later and an in-depth discussion on how the Yankees have ruined Joba’s season.
