pettieserious Well I promise you someone will this game. Hopefully it can be done in nine innings but that’s never a guarantee when the Sox and the Yankees face off. Here is a look at the cast of players this evening:

YANKEES (76-45)
Jeter SS
Damon LF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Matsui DH
Posada C
Cano 2B
Swisher RF
Cabrera CF

Pitching: LHP Andy Pettitte (9-6, 4.09).

RED SOX (69-51)
Ellsbury CF
Pedroia 2B
Martinez C
Youkilis 1B
Bay LF
Ortiz DH
Lowell 3B
Drew RF
Gonzalez SS

Pitching: RHP Brad Penny (7-7, 5.22).

Andy Pettitte has been just short of brilliant sense the all star break which is vastly different than last year after the all star break when he went 4-7 with an ERA of 5.35 after the Break. This year so far he is 1-1 with a sparkling ERA of 2.04 post All Star.

Brad Penny has definitely struggled with the Red Sox sense the all star break he has been just short of Horrible. 1-4 with an ERA of 6.62 is not good at all. On the season he is 7-7, 5.22 , also very bad.

I look for the Yankees to jump all over him and it to be a high scoring affair and a long night for the Red Sox bull pen which is sketchy at best. The back end of the pen is not their problem its their middle relief that sucks hard.

The Yankees are all hands on deck for this series you aren’t going to see many if any of the Regulars get a day off. Especially sense Posada just got two and everyone else was off yesterday so they should be well rested.

Damaso Marte is in the house so Ramiro Pena is headed back to Scranton. I promise you he will be back. Another lefty in the pen will be more valuable this series than two backup infielders. Hariston Jr  will toe the line nicely. Im not convinced that Marte will be staying for long but who knows maybe he will surprise us.

Yankees are 25-8 sense the Break and 76-45 overall with 41 games left it seems more than likely that the Yankees will break the 100 win mark . My guess is 108, we should do an over under from that number.
