medium_SABATHIA-YANKEES-04.06.09 CC Sabathia has lived up to his promise of being the best pitcher in the Bronx. Last night he gave up 2 runs on 5 hits in 8 innings striking out 7 along the way to improve his record to 14-7 as the Yankees broke out for 5 runs in the 6th on the way to the 7-2 victory.

Yankees on the Mound: As stated above CC was great. He is all that we can ask for in a number one guy lets hope he carries this momentum into the playoffs. David Robertson also came it to K two in a scoreless ninth.

Yankees at the Dish: Multi hit games came from the Captain (3)Johnny  Damon, Matsui and Melky Cabrera (who has been slumping). We should also mention a big two Rbi hit from Jorge Posada that put the icing on the cake. The Yankees were 4-12 with RISP and did not commit an error.( The A’s had 4 errors and were 0-5 with RISP)

Yankees on Deck:  On deck for the Yankees is one last shot at the A’s. The bombers are hoping to earn a split to preserve their comfortable lead (and perhaps extend it) in the AL East. It will Be Chad Gaudins Starting Debut as he has looked decent in Limited relief appearances. Its get away day for the Yankees as they have Tomorrow off before traveling to Boston for three games. Its always nice to go into a day off with a win. We will be back later with more pre-game babble and starting line ups. Just make sure you are following us on Twitter then you will know when.
