The Yankees won their 7th straight game Wednesday night by beating the Seattle Mariners.  Andy Pettitte had his best start at the new stadium in the Bronx pitching 7 full innings and striking out 5 and only allowing 2 hits.  It’s important to mention that the first run that went across the plate for Seattle was on a tough play at first that Mark Teixiera bobbled before he threw to second. The play cost Pettitte and the Yanks a inning ending double play.  Pettitte did secure his 8th win of the year. He leads all Yankee starters in wins so far this season.

Another big story in this game was A Rod. He went yard again in a big spot breaking a 2-2 tie. Tex got on base with a single in the 6th and A Rod promptly planted Jarrod Washburn’s offering in dead center. Everyone knows the ball park plays small in the Bronx so far this year but it takes some umph to send one out to dead center.

The Yanks try to sweep the series against Seattle tomorrow.  Also on a little side note I will be on the road again for Friday’s 1:00pm start against the Blue Jays. Stay tuned for my thoughts on that game as well. You can also follow me on Twitter as I will undoubtedly be tweeting through out Friday’s contest. Just Search Genevosey on Twitter.
