At the writing of this post game its not even over but it might as well be as the Yankees scored two more runs in the 9th to make it 9-1 . So I’m going out on a limb and calling this one over.

Mets played horrible defense with three Errors behind Mike Pelfrey who went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs but only 2 earned. But as it turns out the 2 unearned runs didn’t make a hoot of difference as the Yankees punished the Mets with their bats all night long.

Brett Gardner had a Career night going 5 for 5 with only a double short of hitting for the cycle. CC Sabathia who I told you in the pre game loves to bat had an RBI single, but more importantly was dominate on the mound going 7 innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 8. Had this been in an American league park he may have stayed in longer but with the double switches and such it wasn’t meant to be. You have to protect your pitchers and its scary when they have to bat and aren’t used to it. A-Rod also had a homer putting him past Reggie Jackson for sole possession of 10th place on the all time HR leaders board with 564.  Yankees pitching did not walk one batter and only gave up 3 hits while the Bombers drew 8 walks and hit 14 hits.

Tomorrow the Yankees bring AJ Burnett to the Mound to Face Tim Redding.

Redding in his last two appearances has pitched 12.1 innings and given up 8 ER

Burnett in his last two appearances has pitched  13 innings and given up 1 ER
