The Yankees are back to .500 after nabbing a 3-2 victory from the first place Blue Jays. What makes the victory even sweeter is that the Red Sox and the Rays Both lost so Yankees move up everyones else moves back.

Jeter tied the game with a single and Matsui won it with a home run in the eighth. Neither of them played yesterday because of various injuries but it would seem they are certainly 100%.

With this win the Yankees move to 4.5 games out of first and head home for a ten game homestand starting with the twins tomorrow. It will be Franchise Phil  vs Fransico  Liriano. Either Mike G or I will be back with starting lineups when they become available.

Lets take a quick look at who is hot for the Yankees

Damon is on fire he is 17 of 38 (.447) with 16 RBI, 10 runs scored and 12 extra-base hits including five home runs. He has at least one extra-base hit in nine straight games and has scored at least one run in nine straight games.

CC.Sabathia has only allowed 2 runs in his last 18 innings of work striking out 14 along the way.

Cervelli was hitting below .200 in Trenton and is  6 for 19 with the Yankees and has showed off a very strong arm and good Defense.

We wont talk about who is not hot because I want to keep this positive after a win we will save that for after a loss.

Thats all for tonight Hopefully Phil can find himself tomorrow and bring his record back to .500 as well.
